ARTIST STATEMENT
ARTIST STATEMENT
Crista Hope’s mission is to create art that is full of humanity, connects to the human experience and is ultimately encouraging and full of life. Her work emphasizes the human journey toward mental, physical and spiritual health and her lifelong passion for growth, personal development, creativity, and spirituality. Crista strives to illuminate the aspect of the human experience that straddles living in the world while connecting with something greater than ourselves. Her work acknowledges the distractions of modern life and how they play into our mental, physical and spiritual health as well as the human tendency to forget who we are, why we’re here and how powerful we are. Crista’s motive for her work is to provide a reminder to consciously and actively remember who we are, why we are here and the power that lives inside us - to turn toward the God of our own understanding, spirituality, faith, hope and love and away from crisis culture and the individualistic, hustle, comparison driven, branded commercialization of our lives. Crista isn’t interested in demonizing modern culture but rather acknowledging the presence of something greater in our midst despite it and how to return to that power greater than ourselves that is always with us again and again while maintaining a life in the world.
Crista's ultimate vision is to create art that is full of humanity. Art that is encouraging, authentic, full of life and ultimately hopeful serving as a reminder of who we are, why we’re here and the power that lives inside us. Crista’s larger vision is to create art and apparel that promote hope and contribute to a world where the voice of love speaks louder than fear.
